Our Investors

ART is a Community Development Finance Institution - an independent, mutual, organisation, constituted as an Industrial and Provident Society. We are owned by our members- both borrowers and investors.

We rely on investment by companies and individuals, who are interested primarily in a social rather than a financial return, to provide our revolving loan fund. Corporate and individual investment provides a base from which we are able to attract additional funds from a variety of public and private sector sources, including the banks.

Thanks to ongoing support from our investors and supporters, both private and public, ARTis in a position to lend £1.6m over the next 12 months.

Investors include Jaguar, IMI, Severn Trent, Wesleyan Asurance Society, Natwest,
Barclays, West Bromwich Building Society, Sir Adrian Cadbury, Lord Digby Jones and a host of other less well-known companies and individuals who understand, and are committed to,
ART's aims.

An investment in ART is an investment in the local economy, from which everyone living and working in Birmingham and Solihull ultimately benefits.

Investments can range from £250 to £20,000. Larger sums can be accomodated as loan
agreements rather than as investments in shares. Money can be withdrawn with 90 days
notice and investors may qualify for Community Investment Tax Relief (CITR). This offers
5% per annum off personal or corporate tax liabilities up to a maximum of 5 years. Full CITR offers a return of 6.3% to a standard rate tax payer.
