ART calls on Finance Industry Professionals

Although now in it’s 10th year, ART (Aston Reinvestment Trust) – and other CDFIs (Community Development Finance Institutions) like it – remain a secret to many finance industry professionals, particularly in terms of the potential benefits to their clients. November 2006

“The ART model of finance provision works at its best when accountants, business advisors, banks and other finance providers work in partnership,” says Steve Walker, Chief Executive of ART.  “CDFIs were created to provide gap finance.  That is, to step in when the banks have said “no”, or reached the limit of what they can offer according to their strict lending criteria.  If a business has a sound proposition, with the prospect of creating or safeguarding jobs, ART is designed to take a greater risk than the banks in order to support enterprise, facilitate economic growth and create or safeguard jobs.  A flourishing small business sector benefits everyone.”

It can be hard to attract the attention of busy small to medium sized business owner/managers, but that’s where accounting professionals, who are likely to have routine contact with them, have a golden opportunity to ensure that they don’t miss out on sources of finance that could help them grow or diversify.
